Hi, I’m Kyle Lux.
About Me
Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, I am committed to leveraging my diverse skill set to drive positive change and deliver exceptional results. Since being a leader within a variety of environments, I’ve been told that I “grow where planted,” and pride myself in being able to adapt to new and complex situations. Whether leading people in manufacturing optimization, navigating complex operations, or strategic vision setting in a board room, I thrive on challenges and strive to exceed expectations.
My Story
After graduating from NC State with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, I was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy. My first tour was aboard the USS Kidd in San Diego, CA where I led 13 sailors in the maintenance and operation of the missile system. My next duty station was aboard USS Ronald Reagan in Yokosuka, Japan serving as a nuclear engineer, responsible for leading 35 technicians in controlling all chemistry and radiation on the ship. After receiving my Nuclear Engineering Officer license from the Navy nuclear regulating authority, I transferred to the Pentagon and served as a Chief of Staff to an Admiral. I also held a part-time assignment as a White House Social aide serving the President of the United States.
I separated from the Navy after seven years of service and dove back into schooling at MIT, where I received my MBA and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on general management, operations, and robotics. During my time at MIT, I was also a fellow for six months at a Nissan manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi. Not only did this opportunity give me experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment, but it also helped show me that I can thrive in a variety of physical locations and circumstances. My Master’s thesis was based on operational flow and solving bottlenecks in an automated manufacturing plant, which led me to a role in manufacturing management at Caterpillar upon graduation.
Now, as Senior Production Manager at Caterpillar, I have spearheaded transformative initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive production optimization.
Hobbies
When I'm not at work, I am looking into my next adventure. That typically involves traveling to go snowboarding or kiteboarding. I love spending time with my pup, Neptune. I am a Marvel movie fanatic and love discussing backstories and easter eggs. I am also passionate about East Coast IPAs, and Tree House is my favorite brewery.
